Jeroen van den Bergh is ICREA research professor at Autonomous University of Barcelona and professor of Environmental & Resource Economics at VU University Amsterdam. From 1997-2007 he was full professor of environmental economics in the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and (since 2002) also in the Institute for Environmental Studies, both at VU University Amsterdam.
He holds a Master's degree in econometrics (specialization operations research) from University of Tilburg, and a PhD in economics from VU University Amsterdam. He is elected fellow of Tinbergen Institute Research School and NAKE.
He was awarded the Royal/Shell Prize 2002 for research on 'Sustainable Development, Environment and Resources'; was a member of the Energy Council of the Netherlands; is on the editorial board of 5 international journals; and has contributed to 7 monographs and more than 80 journal articles.
