All teams are presented with the same case to solve. The case was designed by Prof Tom Wansbeek, dean of the FEB.
Two
days of effort resulted in a final report that the participating
teams presented to the jury of experts and to the other
teams. The jury, chaired by Prof Peter Boswijk, also
included Tom Wansbeek, Prof Richard Paap of the Erasmus
University, the director of the Tinbergen Institute, Jaap
Abbring, and Sander Boogmans of the ING.
After lengthy
consultations, the jury decared the University of Cambridge winner
of the game, breaking Oxford's hold on the title while allowing the
trophy to remain with a British university. Last year's
runner up, the University of Madrid Carlos III again came in
second and the surprising third place finish went to the University of
Copenhagen from Denmark.
